Paramaribo, Suriname: The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), under the Embassy of India in Paramaribo, is pleased to announce the opening of registrations for its Certified Bharatanatyam Classes. These classes, led by experienced dance teacher Ambili Chidangil, offer an immersive experience into one of India’s most revered classical dance forms.
Open to individuals aged five and above, the program caters to beginners, cultural enthusiasts, and advanced learners. Those aged 10 and older are eligible to appear for certification examinations. No prior dance experience is necessary, making the course accessible to a wide range of participants eager to explore India’s rich artistic heritage.
The curriculum includes rigorous training in classical techniques, expressions (abhinaya), postures (adavus), and theoretical foundations of Bharatanatyam. Students will also have the opportunity to take certified examinations to mark their progress and achievements.
Ambili Chidangil, the resident dance teacher at SVCC, brings years of expertise and a deep passion for Indian classical dance, promising a rich and structured learning environment for all students.
The SVCC continues to serve as a cultural bridge, fostering appreciation for Indian arts, music, and philosophy across Suriname and the region.
