December 22, 2025 -Toronto, Canada – Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Canada strongly condemns the recent killings and targeted attacks against Hindus in Bangladesh and expresses deep concern over the safety and dignity of minority communities.
Among the most disturbing incidents is the tragic death of Dipu Chandra Das, a Hindu man who was reportedly beaten to death by a mob and whose body was later burned. In another incident, reports from Jhenaidah, approximately 200 km from Dhaka, indicate that Gobinda Biswas, a rickshaw-puller, was assaulted by a mob allegedly because he was wearing a red thread on his wrist-an outward expression of his faith.
These incidents reflect a deeply troubling pattern in which Hindus in Bangladesh are bearing the brunt of targeted attacks, creating fear and insecurity among minorities. Such acts of violence undermine fundamental human rights, freedom of belief, and the principles of peaceful coexistence.
VHP Canada seeks clarity on what concrete steps are being taken to identify and punish those responsible and to put a definitive stop to the killings and attacks on Hindus and other minorities. Accountability and effective preventive measures are essential to deter further violence.
VHP Canada calls upon the Government of Canada, national governments worldwide, the United Nations, and international organizations to act urgently to:
• Condemn these acts of violence and brutal attacks;
• Advocate for justice and accountability for the victims;
• Ensure protection and safety for Hindus and all minority communities;
• Work collectively to prevent further violence and uphold universal human rights.
VHP Canada stands in solidarity with the Hindu community and all minorities impacted by these acts and calls for the upholding of universal principles of peace, justice, and human dignity
