India’s star javelin thrower and two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra continued his stellar form in the 2025 athletics season by winning the javelin throw title at the prestigious Ostrava Golden Spike meet on Tuesday. This marks Chopra’s second major title in less than a week, following his victory at the Paris Diamond League.
In a competitive field packed with global talent, Chopra’s second-round throw of 85.29 meters proved enough to secure him the gold medal at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold event. Despite fouling his first and final attempts, Chopra displayed consistency and control in the middle rounds, outclassing some of the world’s best.

“It’s always special to throw in Ostrava. Competing here under Coach Železný’s guidance gives me extra motivation. I’m happy with the win, but I’m still pushing toward the 90m mark,” Chopra said after the event.
